At Second Glance

There's been a lot of buzz lately about Ryan Theriot's recent power surge. Look people, I don't really believe that Theriot is a steroid user. I just think he's a guy who's worked hard and done things the right way and now it's paying off. Besides, if he really was a steroid user, I'm sure we all would've noticed the signs, like his frame getting significantly bigger as well as his head size increasing. The fact of the matter is, there is absolutely no proof out there that will make me think otherwise.



O.K. Fine. You found one picture where it looks like Theriot is having trouble holding his own head up. That really doesn't prove anything, it's one picture. If his head size was really increasing, he probably wouldn't even be able to get his hat on his head.



O.K. Two pictures, two pictures still don't prove anything. I'm sure there's a logical explanation for why Theriot is having trouble holding his head up and why he doesn't have his hat on. You might think it's because his head is gradually getting bigger and his neck can no longer support it, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's admiring a new pair of shoes? Maybe it's really hot out so he took his hat off to cool himself off? Why would you instantly take the leap to steroids? It's not like he's ripped like a Greek God, he just doesn't look like someone who uses steroids.



Fine. But do we really know for sure that Theriot hasn't always had this physique?
