Hendry was also asked whether middle infield was a priority this winter, and replies: "Not necessarily. I'm very happy with Ryan [Theriot]." He adds that Mike Fontenot and Aaron Miles had disappointing 2009 seasons, but that he expects them to bounce back next year.
Glad to hear he's happy with Theriot, I'd hate to acquire someone who plays well defensively. Also, what would lead Hendry to believe that Fontenot and Miles would bounce back? Are we really just going to sit around and hope they get better? You know who's better than Fontenot and Miles at second? Orlando Hudson. So is Jeff Baker. Hell, so is Jake Fox. Nah, just kidding. Only an assclown would peg Jake Fox as a second baseman.

Ryan Theriot ranked 9th among all MLB shortstops in UZR/150 according to Fangraphs, just between Jeter and Aybar. He was the 11th most valuable MLB SS according to Fangraphs valuation system, just ahead of Tejada, Rollins, & Alexei Ramirez.
We used to have a statsy guy that would write for the site. If he was still here I'd be able to ask him what the fuck you just said.
Come to think of it, we used to have another guy here, a rather skinny kid, who could just google what you said for me. Of course, now that I think of it, he kind of sucked at googling things. It once took him 7 days to Google Kevin Pittsnogle...
The comment regarding Theriot could be interpreted as me saying: Ryan Theriot is not the problem.
The problem lies in those who provided NEGATIVE value to the team. I'm talking about guys like Aaron Miles, who Fangraphs says should reimburse the Cubs $5.7 Million for the damage he inflicted on their chances to win. I'm talking about Alfonso Soriano, Kevin Gregg, Mike Fontenot and a handful of other guys who screwed the Cubs in '09.
Let's fix LF, 2B, & Closer before we go fucking with The Riot. (Kevin Pittsnogle was teh shit at WVU)
